Jon and Shaun have been discussing education since we met each other and worked together at a big public high school. That was in 2004. We grew as teachers together and then we both left education for different reasons. But we both had to return to what has become our life's work. In short, we assert that we need to rethink our approach to educating young people. Our educational institutions consistently frustrate young learners. Many teachers out there are doing the right thing by prompting young minds to think through challenges on a pace suitable for the learner, but unless we overhaul our system, these teachers will always find their successes limited to a single classroom or to a few students.

We hope we can prompt a societal wide interrogation of our educational system as we have devoted ourselves to destroying the obstacles that stand in the way of genuine learning.
